No-Show Rundle ALA Candidate Bails

And now he's begging for a chance to be heard at a "candidate debate" on his terms.

Please DO NOT vote for "no-show candidate Rundle," or his “Rundle Bundle.” We can’t afford the consequences!

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, the Arrowhead Lake Association (ALA) held its monthly Board of Directors meeting, followed by the “candidates forum” and “meet and greet.” Only five of the six candidates attended the forum. Irresponsible candidate Scott Rundle failed to show up for the most important meeting of the election period. The Alpine Mountaineer newspaper accurately showed the five candidates who attended in a front-page photograph in the August 27, 2026 edition: 1 Garin Vartanian, (2 an empty seat for the missing “no-show candidate”), 3 Alan Kaitz, 4 Justin Frank, 5 Gary Clifford, and 6 Paul Cate. Could it be Scott Rundle doesn’t work well under pressure? If that is true, how could he handle the demands of public office? Can he think “on the fly?” Or, for himself without the aid of others, or Ai, etc? Does he understand the importance of representing ALA members by showing up at the ALA meetings? I attended the previous month’s ALA Board of Directors meeting, and Rundle appeared unable to focus on the issues at hand. While in the audience of attendees, I observed he was almost constantly on his phone, on social media, texting, etc. He addressed the Board during “Questions or Comments,” but appeared not to listen to the answers and insights offered by individual Board members as he typed away to his “peoples.” The Mountain News, August 27, 2026, published responses to a Q&A without making it clear who created the questions or set the criteria for responding. Scott Rundle did not attend the ALA Candidate Forum, but answered questions presented by the Mountain News. The publication used photos of the candidates who attended the forum, and a “selfie” of “no-show candidate Rundle." This gave the false impression that Rundle was at the ALA Candidates forum. In response to Question 2: Major Projects, legal expenses, and infrastructure costs can have a significant impact on members. What specific changes would you support to ensure that ALA spending is transparent, justified, and financially responsible? Rundle stated “…legal spending is too high.” Incredibly, and hypocritically, Scott Rundle is one of the reasons why! NOTE: The ALA 990-T IRS tax return for 2024 shows $216,319 in legal fees, which increased over 50%, when Scott Rundle began suing, to $432,494 in 2025. Rundle’s first lawsuit was against an unpaid ALA volunteer, and not likely represented by the above legal figure. Go to UniCourt.com and look at public records: San Bernardino Superior Court case number SCVA2502070 Scott Jennens Rundle vs Denise Anne Loxton (ALA Vice-President at the time) 7/11/2025 Here is his filing exactly as he wrote it: “My claim against Denise Loxton is a breach of fiduciary duty claim, a gross negligence claim, a possible fraud claim, and a violation of bylaws claim that led to her retaliate against me once I tried to uncover the truth. Her retaliation against me, a whistleblower caused me reputational harm, was defamatory and caused me emotional distress and embarrassment in the community. I have sought medical attention to relieve the stress and tension in my neck caused by her retaliation against me.” Rundle claimed the defendant owes $2,499 from 2/24/2024 through 5/5/2025 and calculated that the amount he sought is “for court costs, loss of business, emotional distress, and medical bills.” He sued Denise, a neighbor within the Lake Arrowhead Community. Is that how you treat a volunteer serving us within the Arrowhead Lake Association? Denise moved off the mountain, and another volunteer filled her position. Scott filed to have his own case dismissed. Wow, what a telling testimony of personal moral character, huh? Next, Rundle filed: San Bernardino Superior Court case number SCVA2503639 Scott Rundle vs Arrowhead Lake Association, Inc. 12/4/2025 Here is his filing, again exactly as he wrote it: “I am suing Arrowhead Lake Association (”ALA”) for damages caused by improper, biased, and retaliatory actions taken by its Board of Directors and agents acting on behalf of the Association. ALA initiated and pursued a disciplinary/complaint process against me on March 6, 2025, without due process and in violation of its own bylaws, policies, and governing documents. I requested that the process be held as an open board meeting, recorded on Zoom, and posted to the ALA website, as is standard practice. That did not happen. The Board failed to record the open board meeting as they do with all other open board meetings. ALA’s Board members made statements and accusations that were false, unsupported, and harmful to my reputation. This board found me guilty and charged me a fine based upon those false accusations. ALA board took actions outside the scope of its authority, as the Election Committee had jurisdiction over election matters. ALA failed to follow mandatory procedures, denied me the right to face my accusers, and failed to provide a fair and impartial open board meeting. The actions of the Board were negligent, reckless, and in some cases retaliatory. One board member filed an election complaint against me and failed to recuse when asked. All board members were biased and failed to recuse themselves when asked. These board members acted as the ALA police, Judge, Jury and executioner. I was fined on 3 of the 4 charges and put on probation for 5 years. These improper actions caused me financial harm, significant disruption, reputational damage within our small community, emotional distress, and loss of valuable time. ALA, as the corporate entity, is legally responsible for the conduct and decisions of its Board of Directors and its authorized agents. I am seeking $12,500 in damages and as part of the process ALA must get rid/vacate all charges against me as noted on the enclosed March 13th letter and restore my membership to one that is not tainted, but is considered a member in good standing.” Rundle’s damages calculation of the $12,500 figure states, briefly: 1. Time Lost & Administrative Burden - $4,000 for him to review ALA allegations, draft responses, communicate, prepare, and follow-up, 80+ hours @ $50 an hour. 2. Reputational Harm in the Community - $3,000 claiming (ALA) damaged my standing within the tight-knit Lake Arrowhead community, created distrust and confusion among neighbors, volunteers, and business associates, spread through board discussions and community conversations, ALA members got to comment and damage my reputation during the board meeting, but ALA did not allow me to comment and did not record it for my defense. This ($3,500) is valued conservatively, representing the real-world impact on reputation and relationships. 3. Emotional Distress & Stress Damages $3,000 caused by a biased, retaliatory, and unauthorized disciplinary process, ALA ignored evidence in my favor and gave me a guilty charge, denial of due process, the personal toll of being accused incorrectly and unfairly. 4. Disruption to Daily Life & Business Operation - $2,000 ALA’s improper conduct caused interruption of regular work, delays in business decisions, lost productivity and concentration, personal schedule disruptions. 2/13/26 Judicial Officer Lisa M Rogan issued a Judgment for Rundle, against ALA. But, ALA rightfully appealed (and won). The appeal included facts such as: “Rundle cannot establish recoverable damages. ALA acted within its scope of authority and is vested with authority to enforce, Rundle’s pattern of using this lawsuit and threat of this lawsuit as a weapon to extract concessions from the ALA completely untethered to the issues germane to this action, including “the Board can buy my silence for four years unless the ALA provided (Exhibit B or C* 3/6/2025 Rundle email to Mike Pate) which states in part: “one extra jr. trout rodeo this fall,4y years no ala dock and boat fees for me and $13,963 to pay my lawyer ALA would not allow me to have…”, emotional distress damages are wholly inappropriate here and not recoverable, reputational damages require a viable defamation claim supported by proof of actual injury or economic consequence, etc., Noting: …damages must be proven with concrete evidence and not mere speculation. The Board found multiple independent violations supporting discipline. Rundle has produced no documentation or evidence supporting any of these alleged damages. Furthermore, to the extent Rundle claims reputational harm, that claim is undermined by his own conduct… CONCLUSION Rundle here should be awarded nothing for this action. He has brought no legally cognizable claims, the evidence overwhelmingly supports that the ALA has acted within its authority and in good faith, and the damages sought, which are unsupported by evidence, do not represent the sort of out-of-pocket costs or losses germane to a small claims action. The Association therefore requests that this Court adjudicate this matter in its favor and against Rundle and award Rundle nothing. *Here is the wording from Scott Rundle’s EMAIL (exactly as he wrote it) March 6, 2025 to Mike Pate the ALA General Manager: “The board can buy my silence for four years. I wont post their names, attend committee or board meetings. I wont write or use their name on facebook or email blasts. I wont divulge the settlement. I will be a ghost to them. We can shut this nasty hearing that they are all coming to see. We will make a hold harmless confidential agreement and cancel this meeting which will be an embarrassment to all. What I need in order for this to happen is one extra jr trout rodeo this fall, 4 years no ala dock and boat fees for me and $13,963 to pay my lawyer ALA would not allow me to have and pay for my wonderful infographics nobody really wants to see. That’s the best case scenario for all. The worst is it gets ugly tomorrow and names are named from both sides and ALA and I get sued for using someone’s name improperly. Open hearings are riskier for ALA than me. You have money. My name is mud anyways up here already due to the allegations imposed and posted. This could lead to a lawsuit and nobody wants that. Members don’t want high legal bills. It’s all bad and could get way worse…” 5/11/26 Commissioner Laurel A Hoehn issued a Judgment for ARROWHEAD LAKE ASSOCIATION, and Judgment against Scott Rundle. Remember how I stated I attended the July Board of Directors meeting? Scott Rundle voluntarily sat a chair away from me, and stated he won a case against ALA, but then lost on appeal “due to a technicality.” Is that because he sees truth as a technicality? He unashamedly exposes his poor character and ethics. Something is wrong with his thinking abilities. Since he claimed emotional distress in both small-claims lawsuits, maybe he should focus on seeking medical attention for mental healing. It is sincerely doubtful seeking public office is in his best interest. Other ALA candidates who have teamed with Scott Rundle have shown their lack of wisdom. Please DO NOT vote for "no-show candidate Rundle," or his “Rundle Bundle.” We can’t afford the consequences!
